 
Malcolm is the prime consultant, founder,
and director of WriteDoc. At WriteDoc we believe that before
you can work efficiently and effectively, or help others to do so, you
must
have the appropriate experience. The purpose of this section is to highlight
Malcolm's experience.
Malcolm has over 20 years experience as a technical writer that
includes managing, writing, and editing proposals, plans, training courses,
specifications, installation, operational, user, and reference documents
for both print and online deployment. He has excellent skills in analyzing
and presenting technical information verbally and in writing. Malcolm
is also an experienced project and people manager with a successful history
of setting and meeting deadlines and in helping staff identify, develop,
and reach their highest potential. For government work, Malcolm has a
Secret clearance.
Malcolm has 25 years information
development experience, the last 20 in developing online and paper-based
information products with a focus on structuring them for self-paced
instruction using a development methodology based on training objectives
and formative usability. He has an active interest in fostering innovation
and creativity and
has
helped develop visual thinking methods. Malcolm is currently exploring
the use of multimedia techniques for creating effective learning environments
with a focus on how information is transformed into knowledge.
Malcolm actively supports the development
of the technical communication profession with his
participation
in the IEEE Professional
Communication Society, ACM
SigDoc, Society
for Technical Communication (STC), and the Institute
of Scientific and Technical Communicators (ISTC).
